|| સાસુ-વહુની એક લઘુકથા || "આ લો મમ્મી, ત્રણ હજાર... તમારી પાસે રાખો" નવી વહુએ નોકરી જતી વખતે સાસુને કહ્યું. સાસુની આંખોમાં પાણી આવી ગયા. તેમણે કહ્યું," આટલા બધા પૈસાનું મારે શું કરવું છે? “ “મમ્મી, આખો દિવસ કેટલી બધી વસ્તુઓ માટે પૈસાની જરૂર પડતી હોય છે. હું એક મહિનાથી જોઈ રહી છું. શાક વાળો, ફળવાળો અને ક્યારેક કામવાળી પણ તો વધુ પૈસા માંગે છે. તમારી પાસે આ રકમ ભલે રહી." " અરે તારા સસરાજીનું પેન્શન આવે છે ને. એ હતા ત્યારે તેમની પાસે માંગતી હતી, હવે સરકાર વગર માંગ્યે દર મહિને આપી દે છે!" સાસુએ હસીને કહ્યું. " મમ્મી, તમે કિટી પાર્ટી જોઈન કરી લો. તેમની સાથે ફિલ્મ, ભેલ પાર્ટી, નાટક વગેરે માણો. તમારી જિંદગી જીવો. આમણે મને કહ્યું કે તમે કેટલી તકલીફ વેઠીને ઘર ચલાવ્યું છે. મોટા ભાઈ અમેરીકા છે, દીદી પોતાને સાસરે ખુશ છે. હવે તમે નવું જીવન શરૂ કરો. મને ખબર છે તમે અત્યાર સુધી તમારી બધી ઈચ્છાઓ મનમાં દાબી દાબીને જીવ્યા છો. હવે તમે તમારા માટે જીવો. " " આટલી નાની ઉંમર માં આવડી મોટી મોટી વાતો તને કોણે શીખવી વ્હાલી દીકરી?! “ “હું દસ બાર વર્ષ ની હોઈશ. એક વાર મારા દાદી મારા ફોઈને ત્યાં જઈ રહ્યા હતા. મારી મમ્મીએ છસ્સો રૂપિયા કાઢી તેમના હાથમાં મૂક્યા અને બોલી બચ્ચાઓ ને બહાર ફરવા લઈ જજો. નાની વતી એટલે કે તમારા તરફથી તેમને ખવડાવજો - પીવડાવજો, રમકડાં અપાવજો. દાદી મમ્મીને ગળે વળગી રોઈ પડ્યા હતા! તેમણે કહેલું આટલા પૈસા તેમણે ક્યારેય ખર્ચ કર્યા નહોતા! એ દિવસ પછી મમ્મી અને દાદી ઘણી સારી સખીઓ બની ગઈ! " “ હવે મારો વારો છે તમારી સખી બનવાનો! મને ખબર છે ઘર સંભાળવા તમારે તમારી નોકરી છોડવી પડી હતી. કેટલું ખરાબ લાગ્યું હશે ત્યારે તમને. કેટલી ઈચ્છાઓ, મહત્વકાંક્ષાઓનું ગળું દાબી દેવું પડયું હશે તમારે. આ સિવાય, દરેક નાની મોટી વાતે પતિ સામે હાથ લંબાવવો પડ્યો હશે તમારે. તમારું પેન્શન તમારી પાસે જ જમા કરો મમ્મી. મને ક્યારેક જરૂર પડી તો હું માંગીશ " " હવે તને ઓફીસ જવાનું મોડું થશે, તું નીકળ." " મને બોલવા દો મમ્મી. આ હું મારી ખુશી માટે કરી રહી છું. મારી મા એ કહ્યું હતું કે ૧૮ કલાક કામના ઢસરડા કરનાર મહિલા ને કોઈ સમજતું નથી. પણ તું તારી સાસુમાનું ધ્યાન રાખજે. પ્રેમ વાવીશ તો પ્રેમ પામીશ. " સાસુએ ભર્યા મનથી અને પ્રેમ ભર્યા હ્રદયથી વહુના ગાલે હાથ ફેરવ્યાં. અને પછી તે વહુ આંખો સામેથી ઓઝલ ન થઈ ત્યાં સુધી તેને જતી જોઈ રહ્યા. તેમણે મનોમન કહ્યું," મેં વિચાર્યું હતું કે નોકરી કરતી વહુ ઘરમાં આવશે પછી હું ચાર દિવાલો વચ્ચે પુરાઈ જઈશ,પણ તે તો મને બહારનું આકાશ દેખાડ્યું વહુ દીકરી!" બધી સાસુ - વહુ વચ્ચે આવા સંબંધ પાંગરે તો કેટલું સારું!
