My 95 old mother signing a garaba-song, that she might have had sung some 30 years ago, and how she remembers I do not understand; in fact she started just when I did some Taal unknowingly, this provided a triggering and recall signal, and from her memory by association, she started singing.

Looks like clapping in a particular way is as good as providing the Taal for the musicians, singers and dancers.
